Megan Haase

Atlanta Counseling Intern

Hi, I’m Megan Haase

Smiling woman with dark hair

I am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space where children, adolescents, adults, and couples feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges. I am currently pursuing my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and working toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist, equipping me to support children and teens in developmentally meaningful ways.

Counseling for Children and Adolescents:
I have a heart for working with children and adolescents who need a safe place to process their thoughts and emotions. I provide a supportive environment where young people can better understand themselves, strengthen emotional awareness, and build practical coping skills for everyday challenges. As I work toward certification as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), I integrate developmentally appropriate, play-based approaches grounded in the understanding that play is a child’s first language and often how they express what they cannot yet put into words. My goal is to help them feel seen and known as they navigate school, friendships, family dynamics, and personal growth. Sessions are tailored to meet them where they are developmentally, using approaches that feel engaging and accessible.

Counseling for Individuals and parents:
I also work with adults facing anxiety, parenting concerns, and life transitions. As a mother, I understand how parenting can bring both deep joy and great uncertainty. I offer a space for reflection and self-discovery, helping parents clarify their values, reconnect with their sense of purpose, and feel more grounded in their roles as they move through complex seasons of life. Together, we can explore patterns, reduce overwhelm, and build more confidence in decision-making and relationships.

Counseling for Couples and Marriage:
I believe that healthy marriages are foundational to thriving families. Marriage is not about perfection, but about growing together—learning to communicate honestly, extend grace, and remain connected through life’s changing seasons. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside couples as they strengthen their relationship and rediscover one another.

How I work with my clients:
My approach is rooted in meeting clients where they are. I believe healing happens within a safe, trusting relationship where you feel genuinely known and accepted. As an empathetic and attuned listener, I strive to create a space where my clients feel safe, accepted, and truly heard.
I counsel through an attachment-based lens, recognizing how early relationships and life experiences shape the way we connect with ourselves and others. Together, we can make sense of present struggles and move toward healthier patterns.

I believe in the resilience of my clients and will hold hope for you until you are ready to hold it for yourself.

As a Christian, my faith is important to me, and I am comfortable integrating a client’s faith into the counseling process at whatever level feels meaningful. Whether or not faith is part of your journey, you will be met with respect, care, and a commitment to your growth.

I am currently working under the clinical supervision of Liz Fava, LPC, CPCS (LPC 007935).
