Convenience

With online counseling in Georgia, you don’t have to drive. You can schedule a session during a lunch break at work, and you don’t have to arrange extended childcare for your kids while you are at a therapy appointment. If mobility, location, or tight schedules make commuting difficult, an online session ensures you can still get the support you need.

Security

Our online therapy sessions are hosted through an electronic health record platform called SimplePractice. All client communication is encrypted and personal health information is protected and stored securely.

Flexibility

Feeling sick on the day of a session, or having unexpected car issues? You don’t have to miss a session just because you can’t make it into the office. Stay in the comfort of your home and still get the mental health help you’re looking for. Online therapy makes it easier to send messages, cancel, reschedule, or attend your session—all in one place.

Expanded Expertise

Do you live in rural Georgia, or are not considered local to Atlanta? Because all of our therapists are licensed in the state of Georgia, you are not restricted to finding a therapist who works close to where you live. As long as you are anywhere in the state of Georgia, you can work with one of our online therapists at Fava Counseling. This means you can choose the therapist who is most specialized in your specific need, and this expands your options for working with a highly skilled therapist, not just one based on location.

FAQs About Online Therapy in Atlanta

How does Online Therapy work?
Online Therapy is easy with Simple Practice. When you book a session with your Atlanta therapist, you will create a client profile in the app. At your appointment time, you will be able to click on a link in your Simple Practice calendar that will redirect you to a secure online platform where you can video call with your therapist. After your session, you have the option to book another session, message your therapist, handle billing info, and more, all in the app. It’s that simple!
Why Online vs. In Person?
Online therapy gives you the flexibility to fit therapy into your schedule without the added time of a commute. Many of our clients have full schedules in between work, kids, and other obligations. Online therapy makes it easier to fit in therapy without sacrificing time. It is also a great option for those who don’t have a car, are located far from our office, who have accessibility needs, have small children or other dependents at home, or for those who just prefer virtual appointments.
How much does Online Therapy cost?
Online therapy is priced the same as our in-person therapy, which ranges from $120-$200 per 50 minute session. All of our Atlanta therapists offer a reduced fee sliding scale when finances are an issue.
Is In-Person Therapy better than Online Therapy?
There are no differences in results for clients that choose in-person therapy versus online therapy. It all comes down to personal preference and what is a better fit for you! Do you prefer speaking face-to-face, or are you just as comfortable with a video call or phone call? Do you feel more comfortable at home, or do you find other environments energizing? Maybe you feel you would benefit from doing a mix of both. These are some of the things to consider when making your decision.
How long does the Online Therapy process take?
Similar to in-person therapy, this will vary depending on a person’s goals, progress, and level of need. Some people find the help they need in 6-8 sessions, while others find it helpful to have an ongoing level of support. Talk to your therapist about your goals for therapy and they can help you determine what may be a good fit.
Do I have to be in Georgia to work with a therapist at Fava Counseling?
Yes, because all of our therapists are licensed by the state, you must be in Georgia in order to be seen for an appointment at Fava Counseling.
How do I schedule an Online Therapy appointment?

You can either schedule an appointment in the SimplePractice app with a client profile, or you can click the link here to schedule one online. If you’re not sure or have any questions, click here to contact us today to learn how you can start moving toward the life you want.
